On the next day, when Jesus came down from the mountain, a great multitude met the Lord. While the three disciples were seeing the glory on the mountain, at the foot of the mountain there were a suffering boy and a father watching that boy. That father, who was among the multitude, cried out to Jesus and implored Him. “Suddenly a man from the multitude cried out, saying, ‘Teacher, I implore You, look on my son, for he is my only child’” (Luke 9:38). He did not merely wait for the Lord to recognize him among many people, but asked the Lord to look on his only son.
