There are times when we have focused our hearts on prayer, but, not knowing what we should say first, we only repeat familiar words. Even after telling God at length about our pressing circumstances, we sometimes fail to look back on the relationship with God in which we prayed. One of the disciples of Jesus, too, asked Him to teach them to pray. This is because the disciple, who had seen the Lord praying, knew that what he needed was to learn prayer from the Lord rather than to have more words to pray.
