While Jesus was speaking, a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and cried out, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!” (Luke 11:27). This woman, who had been listening to the word of the Lord, thought how blessed the mother who bore and raised Jesus must be. She envied the person who was in a close relationship with such an amazing One. But the Lord, rather than accepting that admiration as it was, awakened her anew to who is a blessed person before God.
